Tougher Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential Furnace Fans to Take Effect in Five Years

The Department of Energy has issued a final rule adopting more stringent energy conservation standards for residential furnace fans. The DOE has determined that the amended standards would result in significant conservation of energy and are technologically feasible and economically justified. The new standards will apply to all specified equipment manufactured in or imported into the U.S. on or after July 3, 2019.
