Energy Efficiency of Shipping to be Among Topics of April 13 Meeting

The Department of State’s Shipping Coordinating Committee will hold an open meeting April 13 in Washington, D.C., to prepare for the 69th session of the International Maritime Organization's Marine Environment Protection Committee, which will be held April 18-22 in the United Kingdom. The agenda items to be considered include air pollution and energy efficiency, further technical and operational measures for enhancing the energy efficiency of international shipping, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from ships, and the use of electronic record books.
