The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is accepting comments through Nov. 4 on a proposed three-year extension of an information collection associated with the regulations to prevent the introduction and spread of emerald ash borer, a destructive wood-boring insect, in the U.S.

Existing regulations restricting or prohibiting the importation of emerald ash borer host material from Canada pertain to the importation of plants, plant parts and seeds as well as logs, lumber and other wood articles. These regulations involve information collection activities such as phytosanitary certificates, permit applications and certificates of inspection.
