Deputy Secretary, Industry and Analysis Chief Nominated for Commerce Department

President Obama announced May 22 his intent to nominate Bruce H. Andrews as deputy secretary of commerce. Currently the DOC chief of staff, Andrews has held positions as general counsel for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation and legislative director for a U.S. congressman. He also worked as an attorney in private practice and spent two years as vice president of governmental affairs for Ford Motor Company.

The president also announced May 22 the nomination of Marcus D. Jadotte as assistant secretary of commerce for industry and analysis. Jadotte most recently worked for NASCAR for nine years, rising to the post of vice president of public affairs and multicultural development. Earlier in his career he was chief of staff to Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Peter Deutsch.
