The Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service is accepting through Oct. 13 comments on the proposed extension of export certificate request forms. Exporters must request export certificates for dairy products from AMS if the importing country requires certification as to production methods and sources of raw ingredients for dairy products. The information required on these certificates varies from country to country and may include the identity of the importer and exporter, a description of the consignment and the border entry point at the country of destination. There are thus 16 different export certificate request forms at present, with ongoing negotiations with at least five more countries on possible new certificates.
