Export Opportunities for Civil Nuclear Goods and Services to be Focus of Upcoming Meetings

The International Trade Administration has announced a civil nuclear energy export opportunity seminar May 11 in Seattle, Wash. The purpose of this event is to provide a forum for U.S. government officials to brief companies on recent developments in U.S. civil nuclear export controls, 123 agreements for peaceful nuclear cooperation and export market opportunities. Additional seminars will be scheduled in other U.S. cities in the next few months.

The ITA has also announced that its Civil Nuclear Trade Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting May 15 in Washington, D.C. This committee provides advice on the development and administration of programs to expand U.S. exports of civil nuclear goods and services in accordance with applicable U.S. laws and regulations, including how U.S. civil nuclear goods and services export policies, programs and activities will affect the U.S. industry’s competitiveness and ability to participate in the international market. The upcoming meeting will include an update on the Civil Nuclear Trade Initiative and a discussion on civil nuclear trade promotion activities.
