The Drug Enforcement Administration is accepting comments through May 28 on the proposed extension of DEA Forms 486 and 486A, Import/Export Declaration for List I and List II Chemicals. Persons importing, exporting and conducting international transactions with such chemicals must notify DEA of those transactions in advance of their occurrence, including information regarding the person(s) to whom the chemicals will be transferred and the quantity to be transferred. Persons must also provide return declarations confirming the date of the importation and transfer and the amounts of the chemical transferred. For the List I chemicals ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine, importers must report all information known to them on the chain of distribution of the chemical from the manufacturer to the importer.
