Chemical and Biological Weapons Sanctions Waived for Two Chinese Entities
Effective Feb. 24, the Department of State is waiving chemical and biological weapons proliferation sanctions imposed in May 1997 against the following Chinese entities and their successors.
- Nanjing Chemical Industries Group
- Jiangsu Yongli Chemical Engineering and Technology Import/Export Company
No reason for the change was given, other than that lifting the sanctions “is important to the national security interests of the United States.”
