The Consumer Product Safety Commission is accepting comments through Sept. 28 on the proposed extension of the following information collections.

Carpets and Rugs. The Standard for the Surface Flammability of Carpets and Rugs and the Standard for the Surface Flammability of Small Carpets and Rugs establish testing and recordkeeping requirements for manufacturers and importers who furnish guaranties subject to the carpet flammability standards.

Coal and Wood Burning Appliances. Manufacturers and importers must provide consumers with written notification regarding certain technical and performance information related to safety on each coal and wood burning appliance. Manufacturers are also required to provide to the CPSC a copy of the notification to consumers and an explanation of all clearance distances contained in the notification.
