Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is accepting through Nov. 16 comments on the proposed extension of information collections associated with the following.

- Safety standards for the flammability of carpets and rugs and the flammability of small carpets and rugs: These standards establish requirements for testing and recordkeeping for manufacturers and importers who furnish guaranties subject to these standards.

- Notification requirements for coal and wood burning appliances: Manufacturers and importers must provide consumers with written notification regarding certain technical and performance information related to safety on each coal and wood burning appliance. Manufacturers are also required to provide to the CPSC a copy of the notification to consumers and an explanation of all clearance distances contained in the notification.
