Beef Imports from Brazilian States Would be Allowed Under USDA Rule

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is accepting comments through Feb. 21 on a proposed rule that would allow the importation of fresh (chilled or frozen) beef from the Brazilian states of Bahia, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Goias, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Parana, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Rondonia, Sao Paulo, Sergipe and Tocantins. Such imports would be allowed under the same conditions currently applied to Uruguay.
