U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Airport and Seaport Inspections User Fee Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting Oct. 22 in Washington, D.C. This committee is tasked with providing advice on matters related to the performance of airport and seaport inspections coinciding with the assessment of an agriculture, customs or immigration user fee.

The upcoming meeting will include a report on the work completed by the Financial Assessment and Options Subcommittee and the Processes Subcommittee. The Financial Assessment and Options Subcommittee will be responsible for providing an overview of current worldwide user fees being paid by industry, mapping how industry collects and transmits user fees to CBP, and discussing the option of having a third-party study that would improve the committee’s and CBP’s understanding of the universe of CBP’s budget, costs and funding sources. The Processes Subcommittee will be responsible for developing advice that would enhance CBP operational efficiencies.

Members of the public who plan to attend the meeting in person should register here. Those who plan to participate via webinar should register here.
