Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

A new air transport agreement that could significantly increase trade and travel between the U.S. and Mexico will take effect Aug. 21. This agreement will allow cargo and passenger airlines to fly between any city in Mexico and any city in the U.S. and will permit an unlimited number of flights. Officials have said the agreement will allow all-cargo carriers to expand their worldwide networks, establish new routes to and through the U.S. and Mexico, and provide faster services at better rates. Manufacturers and shippers, in turn, will be able to move goods more efficiently and cheaply, thus increasing the competitiveness of Mexican and U.S. products in the global marketplace.
