Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

A U.S. district court recently approved a settlement in which Korean Air and Singapore Airlines agreed to pay over $200 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that they participated in a scheme to fix the price of surcharges included in the cost of airfreight shipping services. Any companies that directly purchased such services for shipments to, from or within the United States from these two or ANY of the other defendants in the lawsuit during the period Jan. 1, 2000, through Sept. 11, 2006, may now file a claim to receive money from this settlement, which is the fourth major settlement in the air cargo surcharge litigation being handled by the Eastern District of New York.

Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg has assisted its clients in recovering refunds from the airlines who have previously entered into settlement agreements. If your company purchased airfreight shipping services directly from any of the defendants, you may receive a notice of the settlement from the court and ST&R can help you file and perfect your claim. If you have not received such a notice but feel you should be included in the settlement recovery, we can evaluate your claim.
