Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is seeking comments by Nov. 22 on a proposal to completely rewrite and update its implementing rule under the Freedom of Information Act. Modeled after a template provided by the Department of Justice, the proposal describes how to make a FOIA request to USTR and how the FOIA Office, which includes the USTR officials who are authorized to work on FOIA requests, processes requests for records. USTR notes that the proposal incorporates the practical experience of FOIA staff.
