Notice of International SPS Standard-Setting Activities

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued a notice informing the public of the sanitary and phytosanitary standard-setting activities of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the International Plant Protection Convention and the North American Plant Protection Organization. This notice also outlines standards under consideration for future adoption concerning antimicrobial resistance arising from the use of antimicrobial agents in animals, procedures for self-declaration and official recognition by OIE, the international movement of cut flowers and branches, specifications for the international movement of grain, the regulation of wood packaging material in international trade, the heat treatment of wood products, and phytosanitary certification of grain reexport and in-transit movement within North America and for reexport of grain to off-continent destinations.
