New ITC Commissioner Sworn In

F. Scott Kieff, a Republican from Illinois, was sworn in Oct. 18 as a new commissioner of the International Trade Commission for the term expiring June 16, 2020. In order to serve at the ITC Kieff has taken a leave of absence from his post as Professor at the George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, which he joined in the summer of 2009. Prior to joining the GW faculty he was a Professor in the Washington University in Saint Louis School of Law with a secondary appointment in the School of Medicine’s Department of Neurological Surgery. Kieff previously served as a faculty member of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center at Germany’s Max Planck Institute, a visiting professor in the law schools at Northwestern and Stanford, and a faculty fellow in the Olin Program on Law and Economics at Harvard. He also practiced law for seven years in Chicago and New York as a trial and patent lawyer.
