The Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is requesting public comment no later than Oct. 10 on data and information concerning a pre-authorization safety audit conducted for one motor carrier that has applied to participate in the pilot program to test and demonstrate the ability of Mexico-domiciled motor carriers to operate safely in the U.S. beyond specified border zones. This program has been upheld by a federal court and is slated to run through October 2014.

According to FMCSA, Transportation and Cargo Solutions S de RL de CV successfully completed its PASA and the results of this audit are available here. Several minor violations were found but none were considered grounds for TRACSO to fail the PASA, and the company provided a corrective action plan to ensure that these deficiencies are rectified. Subsequent to the PASA, FMCSA conducted a compliance review that identified six violations but none were considered acute or rose to the level of critical violation.
