FTZ Board Considers Requests for New Subzone, Authority at Locomotive Facility

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Houma-Terrebonne Airport Commission, grantee of FTZ 279, a request for subzone status for the Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors LLC facilities in Houma and Lockport, La. Comments on this request are due no later than March 14. A notification of proposed production activity has also been submitted and will be published separately for public comment.

The FTZ Board has received from General Electric Transportation a notification of proposed production activity for its facilities within FTZ 196 in Fort Worth and Haslet, Texas, which are used for the manufacturing, kitting, repairing, warehousing and distribution of locomotives, off-highway vehicle wheels, OHV inverters, OHV brake systems, locomotive components, OHV components and drill equipment. Comments on this request are due no later than March 14. A separate application for subzone designation at the GE Transportation facilities has also been submitted.
