FTZ Board Considers Application from Refrigerator Plant, Names New Grantee for IL Zone

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority, grantee of FTZ 83, a notification of proposed production activity at the General Electric Company facility in Decatur, Ala., which is used for the production of household refrigerators. A separate request for subzone designation at this facility has been submitted. Comments on this notification are due no later than Dec. 15.

The FTZ Board has also approved a request to recognize the Economic Development Corporation of Decatur & Macon County, Ill., as the new grantee for FTZ 245 in Decatur.
