FTZ Board Moves to Expand Authority at Marine, Automotive Facilities

Marine Facility. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received an application from the Mississippi Coast Foreign Trade Zone Inc., grantee of FTZ 92, requesting on behalf of VT Halter Marine Inc. authority to add an additional site to subzone 92A in Pascagoula, Miss. No authorization for production activity at this site has been requested at this time. Comments on this request are due no later than Aug. 4.

Automobiles. The FTZ Board has received from the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority, grantee of FTZ 83, a request for subzone status for the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama Inc. facilities in Huntsville, Ala. A notification of proposed production activity has also been submitted and is being processed. Comments on this request are due no later than Aug. 4.

Vehicle Accessorizing. The FTZ Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the Mercedes Benz USA LLC facilities within FTZ 144 in Brunswick, Ga., and within FTZ 74 in Baltimore, Md., which are used for accessorizing passenger motor vehicles.

Camshafts. The FTZ Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the Thyssenkrupp Presta Danville LLC facility within FTZ 245 in Danville, Ill., which is used for the production of camshafts for the automotive industry.
