FTZ Board Considers Request from Jewelry Facility, Approves Florida Subzone

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board  has received from Zale Delaware Inc., operator of subzone 39F, a notification of proposed production activity for its facility in Irving, Texas, which is used for the distribution and assembly of jewelry and accessories. FTZ activity would be limited to specific foreign-status materials and components, such as cut diamonds, ring mounts, ear ring mounts, necklaces (rope and mixed link) and pendant mounts (duty rates range from zero to 5.8 percent), and specific finished products described in the submitted notification and subsequently authorized by the FTZ Board. Comments on this notification are due no later than Dec. 14.

The FTZ Board has also approved the establishment of subzone 79D at the Swisscosmet Corporation facility in New Port Richey, Fla.
