Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the voestalpine Texas LLC facility within subzone 122T in Portland, Texas. This facility is currently under construction and will be used for the production of hot briquetted iron using foreign-sourced iron ore pellets, most of which will be exported.

The FTZ Board has received from the Piedmont Triad Partnership, grantee of FTZ 230, a notification of proposed production activity at the Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation facility in Kernersville, N.C., which is used for the production of hydraulic excavators. Comments are due no later than Nov. 4.

The FTZ Board has received from DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation, operator of subzone 33E, a notification of proposed production activity for its facility within subzone 33E in Mount Pleasant, Pa. DNP already has authority to produce thermal transfer ribbon and monochrome TTR printer rolls using certain foreign-sourced components at this facility, and the current request would add the production of TTR master rolls using foreign-sourced rolls of polyethylene terephthalate film to the scope of authority. DNP’s request indicates that any PET film subject to an antidumping or countervailing duty order, proceeding, or suspension of liquidation would be used only in production for export and that no TTR master rolls made from such PET film would be shipped for U.S. consumption. Comments are due no later than Nov. 4.
