FTZ Board Considers Production Authority for Heavy Equipment Plant, Creates New Subzone

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from Komatsu America Corporation a notification of proposed production activity at its facility within FTZ 127 in Newberry, S.C. This facility is used for the production of wheel loaders and forklift trucks but in the future may also produce other material handling, construction and forestry machinery such as bulldozers, angledozers, hydraulic excavators, forestry harvesters, forestry feller bunchers, dump trucks and forestry forwarders. Comments on this request are due no later than Dec. 23.

Separately, the FTZ Board has approved the establishment of subzone 29M at the Kinder Morgan Operating L.P. “C” facilities in Hawesville, Ky.
