FTZ Board Considers New Production Authority, Approves Subzone

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from Sasol Chemicals LLC, operator of subzone 87E, a notification of proposed production activity at its facilities in Westlake and Sulphur, La. Sasol is requesting FTZ authority to assemble and install an ethylene distillation/rectification plant and ethane cracker/reaction unit(s) and to produce polyethylene from foreign-sourced ethane once this construction is complete. Comments on these requests are due no later than May 9.

The FTZ Board has also approved the establishment of subzone 287A at the FTZ Networks Inc. facility in Olive Branch, Miss. Authorization for production activity within this subzone has not yet been requested.
