Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the New Jersey Department of State, grantee of FTZ 44, a request for subzone status for the Panasonic System Communications Company of North America facility in Rockaway, N.J. Comments on this request are due no later than July 16. A notification of proposed production activity has been submitted and will be published separately for public comment.

The FTZ Board is inviting through July 9 comments on new evidence submitted by ASO LLC concerning its request for expanded FTZ authority to use certain textile fabrics in the production of adhesive bandages within subzone 169A in Manatee County, Fla.

The FTZ Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the following facilities, all of which are used for the production of nickel, aluminum and titanium-based closed die ISO-thermal forgings and parts of turbine engines used in aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications.

- Firth Rixson Forgings LLC facility within FTZ 104 in Midway, Ga.

- Forged Metals Inc. facility within FTZ 50 in Fontana, Calif.

- Schlosser Forge Company facilities within FTZ 126 in Verdi, Nev., and within FTZ 50 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

These approvals are subject to a requirement that the companies admit all foreign status titanium products to these zones in privileged foreign status.
