FTZ Authority Sought for Cell Phone Kitting, Fragrance, Plastic Container Facilities

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board is accepting comments through Aug. 12 on the following notifications of proposed production activity under FTZ procedures.

- The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, grantee of FTZ 32, has submitted a notification of proposed production activity at the Brightstar Corporation facility within site 6 of FTZ 32 in Miami, Fla., which is used for the kitting of cell phones and cell phone accessories.

- The Givaudan Fragrances Corporation has submitted a notification of proposed production activity for its facility within FTZ 44 in Mt. Olive, N.J. Givaudan currently has authority to produce fragrance and flavor compounds within site 1 of FTZ 44, and the current request would add four foreign status components to the scope of authority.

- The Greater Maricopa Foreign Trade Zone Inc., grantee of FTZ 277, has submitted a notification of proposed production activity at the Schoeller Arca Systems Inc. facility in Goodyear, Ariz., which is used for the production of customized plastic containers for industrial/commercial materials handling applications. The FTZ Board notes that an application is currently pending to expand FTZ 277 and include the Schoeller Arca facility as a usage-driven site.
