FTZ Board OKs New and Expanded Production Authority at Automotive, Textile Facilities

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized new or expanded production under zone procedures at the following facilities.

- the BMW Manufacturing Co. LLC facility within subzone 38A in Spartanburg, S.C., which already has authority to produce passenger sedans, coupes and sport utility vehicles and is now adding a new finished product (passenger vehicle bodies) and foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority, subject to a restriction that all foreign-status textile-based felt strips and damping strips (classified within HTSUS 5602.10 and 5602.90) used in the production activity must be admitted to the subzone in privileged foreign status

- the Claremont Flock facility within subzone 27N in Leominster, Mass., which is used for the production of acrylic and rayon textile flock

- the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama LLC facility within subzone 222A in Montgomery, Ala., which already has authority to produce light-duty passenger sedans, sport utility vehicles, minivans and related engines and is now adding certain foreign-status components to the scope of authority
