Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized an expansion of production under zone procedures at the BMW Manufacturing Co. LLC facility within subzone 38A in Spartanburg, S.C. BMWMC already had authority to produce passenger sedans, coupes, sport utility vehicles and related bodies at this facility, and the FTZ Board has now added new finished products (stamped body parts, lithium-ion batteries) and foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority, subject to a restriction that foreign status textile-based polyester fleece vent pads (classified under HTSUS 5911.90) be admitted to the zone in privileged foreign status.
