FTZ: Auto Plant Application, Alabama Zone Expanded

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from Volvo Car US Operations Inc. a notification of proposed production activity at its facility within FTZ 21 in Ridgeville, S.C., which is currently under construction and will be used for the production of motor vehicles and related parts. Comments on this notification are due no later than Nov. 7. A separate application for subzone designation at this facility will be submitted.

The FTZ Board has approved the reorganization and expansion of FTZ 82 in Mobile, Ala. This zone will now have a service area of Mobile, Baldwin, Butler (portion), Choctaw (portion), Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Monroe, Washington, and Wilcox (portion) counties, in and adjacent to the Mobile U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry.
