The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized the production of electric water heaters under zone procedures at the GE Appliances facility within subzone 29C in Louisville, Ky. This facility already has authority to produce household appliances including dishwashers, refrigerator-freezers, freezers, apparel washing machines and dryers, electric ranges and air conditioners.

The FTZ Board has received from the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, grantee of FTZ 134, a notification of proposed production activity at Komatsu America Corporation facility in Chattanooga, Tenn., which is used for the production of construction and forestry equipment. Komatsu estimates that 5% of production would be for the export market. Comments on this notification are due no later than June 24.
