FTZ Board Moves to Expand Authority at Air Compressor, Auto, Auto Parts Facilities

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has approved production under zone procedures at the MAT Industries LLC facility in Jackson, Tenn., which is used for the production of air compressors and related tanks, and the MAT facility in Springfield, Minn., which is used for the production of air compressors, air compressor tanks and pressure washers.

The FTZ Board has received from the Economic Development Corporation of Decatur & Macon County, grantee of FTZ 245, a notification of proposed production activity at the Thyssenkrupp Presta Danville LLC facility in Danville, Ill., which is used for the production of camshafts for the automotive industry. Comments on this notification are due no later than April 6. A separate application for subzone designation at this facility has also been submitted.

The FTZ Board has received from the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation, grantee of FTZ 134, a notification of proposed production activity at the Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations LLC facility in Chattanooga, Tenn. VGACO already has authority to produce passenger sedans, sport utility vehicles and minivans within site 3 of FTZ 134, and the current request would add certain foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority. Comments on this notification are due no later than April 6.
