FTZ Board OKs Three Requests, Considers Notification for Auto Facility

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has approved the following actions.

- the expansion of subzone 149C to include additional acreage at existing site 5 in Brazoria County, Texas

- production under zone procedures at the Givaudan Flavors Corporation facility within subzone 46G in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is used for the production of flavor compounds

- the establishment of subzone 61R at the Rooms to Go (PR) Inc. facility in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico

The FTZ Board has received from the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, grantee of FTZ 126, a notification of proposed production activity at the Tesla Motors Inc. facility in Sparks, Nev., which is used for the production of lithium-ion batteries, electric motors and stationary energy storage systems. Comments on this notification are due no later than Sept. 19.
