FTZ Authority Requested for Ohio Turbine Plant

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, grantee of FTZ 138, a notification of proposed production activity at the Rolls Royce Energy Systems Inc. facility in Mount Vernon, Ohio. This facility is used for the production of industrial gas turbines, power generation turbines and generator sets. FTZ activity would be limited to the following components sourced from abroad: AC generators, industrial gas turbines, turbine bases, acoustic enclosures, gearboxes (transmissions) and combustion liners (duty rates of 2.4% to 2.5%). Comments on this notification are due no later than Nov. 4.
