Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received an application from the Port of Houston Authority, grantee of FTZ 84, requesting authority to expand this zone to include sites within the Generation Park in Houston and the Texas Deepwater Industrial Port in Harris County. No specific production authority is being requested at this time. Comments on this application are due on later than Aug. 30.

The FTZ Board has also received from Schering-Plough Products LLC, operator of subzone 7G, a notification of proposed production activity for its facility in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Schering-Plough currently has authority to produce certain pharmaceutical products and their intermediates within this subzone, and the request would add the production of suvorexant pharmaceutical tablets for the treatment of insomnia using a proprietary active ingredient, an orexin receptor antagonist, to the scope of authority. Comments on this notification are due no later than Aug. 12.
