Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Food and Drug Administration has extended through April 18 the deadline for interested parties to submit comments on the issues the agency should include in the environmental impact statement for its proposed rule on standards for growing, harvesting, packing and holding of produce for human consumption. The FDA has also scheduled a public meeting for April 4 as part of ongoing efforts to seek public input on the issues and alternatives the agency should consider when preparing the EIS, as well as to provide information about the EIS process (including how to submit comments, data and other information to the rulemaking docket), solicit oral stakeholder and public comments on the EIS scope, and respond to questions about the EIS.
