Export Committees on Sensors, Materials to Meet

The following Bureau of Industry and Security export advisory committees will hold partially open meetings at the Commerce Department headquarters building in Washington, D.C.

- At its Aug. 25 meeting, the Sensors and Instrumentation Technical Advisory Committee will hear remarks from BIS management, receive industry presentations and consider any new business. This committee advises the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to sensors and instrumentation equipment and technology.

- At its Aug. 4 meeting, the Materials Processing Equipment TAC will consider papers and comments presented by the public, discuss the results of the last Wassenaar meeting, report on proposed and recently issued changes to the Export Administration Regulations, and consider other business. This committee advises the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology.

The open session of each of these meetings will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis. Requests to join these conferences may be submitted here. A limited number of seats will also be available at each public session, but reservations are not accepted.
