DoD Implements Defense Trade Cooperation Treaties with Australia, UK

The State Department has adopted as final, with changes, a May 2012 interim rule amending the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement requirements of the U.S. defense trade cooperation treaties with the United Kingdom and Australia. These two treaties establish certain exemptions from International Traffic in Arms Regulations requirements. Other exports and transfers remain governed by the Arms Export Control Act and the ITAR.
