Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Department of Energy has issued a final rule prescribing new minimum energy efficiency standards for microwave ovens in standby and off modes. The agency has determined that amended standards for these products will result in significant conservation of energy and are technologically feasible and economically justified. The amended standards will apply to microwave-only ovens, countertop convection microwave ovens, and built-in and over-the-range convection microwave ovens manufactured in or imported into the United States on or after June 17, 2016.
