Colombia FTA Short Supply Request on Cotton Shirting Fabrics

Thursday, October 20, 2016
Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has received a short supply request alleging that certain cotton shirting fabrics are not available in commercial quantities in a timely manner from suppliers in Colombia. The fabrics at issue are 100 percent rayon twill challis classifiable under HTSUS subheadings 5516.12.0020, 5516.13.0000, 5516.14.0025, and 5516.14.0030.

The petitioner is requesting that these fabrics be added to the short supply list in Annex 3-B of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement in unrestricted quantity, which would allow duty-free imports of apparel made in Colombia with these fabrics. Responses with an offer to supply these fabrics are due no later than Oct. 31.

If your company is interested in exploring a short supply petition, please contact Nicole Bivens Collinson or Mark Tallo.
