Two New Court of International Trade Justices Confirmed

The Senate approved June 6 the following individuals as justices on the U.S. Court of International Trade.

- Jennifer Choe Groves is the CEO of two firms that provide legal and consulting services in the areas of international trade and intellectual property. Earlier in her career she served at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative as senior director of intellectual property and innovation and as chair of the Special 301 Committee, where she led decision-making on international trade policy and intellectual property protection. She has also held positions as partner and counsel at several private sector law firms after beginning her legal career as an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney's Office.

- Gary Stephen Katzmann has served as an associate justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court since 2004, where he adjudicates civil and criminal matters. Previously, he served for nearly 20 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, including as chief appellate attorney, deputy chief of the Criminal Division and chief legal counsel to the U.S. attorney. He was also detailed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Deputy Attorney General for a year each.
