CBP Removes Certain Provisions Addressing Flights to and from Cuba

Monday, March 21, 2016
Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has amended its regulations to remove subpart O addressing flights to and from Cuba because the provisions in that subpart are either obsolete due to intervening regulatory changes or are duplicative of regulations applicable to all other similarly situated international flights. CBP notes that these amendments are consistent with President Obama’s policy promoting the normalization of relations between the U.S. and Cuba. Parties wishing to submit comments on this action may do so by April 20.
