Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has received a short supply request alleging that the following two fabrics are not available in commercial quantities in a timely manner from a supplier in the DR-CAFTA countries.

- warp stretch woven rayon, nylon, spandex fabric classified under HTSUS 5516.22.00, 5516.23.00 and 5516.24.00

- warp stretch woven rayon, polyester, nylon, spandex fabric classified under HTSUS 5407.10.00, 5407.92.20, 5407.93.20, 5407.94.20, 5516.22.00, 5516.23.00 and 5516.24.00

The petitioner is requesting that these fabrics be added to the CAFTA-DR short supply list in unrestricted quantity. This would allow duty-free imports of apparel made in CAFTA-DR countries with these fabrics regardless of its origin.

Responses with an offer to supply these fabrics are due no later than May 16.
