Foreign Regulatory Changes Could Affect Exports of Appliances, Batteries, Bottles

According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the World Trade Organization has been notified of regulatory changes that may affect exports of specific products to the following countries. For more information on how these restrictions may affect your business, contact ST&R.

• Albania – technical regulation on energy labeling of household washing machines related to energy consumption (comments due by March 6)

• Brazil – conformity assessment program on energy efficiency of stoves and gas furnaces

• Brazil – draft technical regulation on lead-acid batteries for automobiles

• Kuwait – mandatory standard on plastic bottles used for bottling chemical materials and products
