Maritime Security Committee to Meet Jan. 18-19

The National Maritime Security Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting Jan. 18-19 in Washington, D.C. This meeting will be broadcast via a Web-enabled interactive online format and teleconference. Topics to be discussed include enhancing the sharing of information on maritime domain awareness between industry and government, harmonization between the Maritime Transportation Security Act and chemical facility anti-terrorism standards, upcoming regulatory actions associated with MTSA updates, implementation of the Transportation Worker Identification Credential program and the development of TWIC readers, the Global Supply Chain Security Initiative, requirements for vessels to post or contract for guards while in U.S. ports, and the Coast Guard’s Underwater Terrorism Preparedness Program.
