Additional Argentinean Areas Named Pest-Free by USDA

Effective Dec. 27, the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is recognizing the Southern and Central Oases in Mendoza Province in Argentina as pest-free areas for Mediterranean fruit fly, South American fruit fly and all other economically important species of Anastrepha. This determination expands a recognized pest-free area in Argentina from which fruits and vegetables are authorized for importation into the U.S.
