President’s Export Council Gets More Members

President Obama issued an executive order Dec. 19 expanding the membership of the President’s Export Council. The PEC will now be composed of the heads of the following.

• Department of State
• Department of the Treasury
• Department of Agriculture
• Department of Commerce
• Department of Labor
• Department of Energy
• Department of Transportation
• Department of Homeland Security
• Office of the U.S. Trade Representative
• Export-Import Bank of the United States
• Small Business Administration
• U.S. Trade and Development Agency
• Overseas Private Investment Corporation
• Council of Economic Advisers
• Office of Management and Budget
• National Economic Council
• National Security Staff
• National Governors Association
• U.S. Conference of Mayors

It will also include five members of the Senate, designated by the president of the Senate, and five members of the House of Representatives, designated by the speaker of the House. Finally, the president will appoint no more than 28 citizens, including representatives of business and industry, agriculture and labor.
