Import Restrictions on Cultural Material from Cyprus and Peru Proposed for Extension

The State Department is proposing to extend the U.S. import restrictions on certain cultural materials from Cyprus and Peru. The U.S. currently restricts imports of pre-Classical and Classical archaeological objects and Byzantine period ecclesiastical and ritual ethnological material from Cyprus and archaeological material from pre-Hispanic cultures and certain ethnological material from the Colonial period of Peru. The views and recommendations of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee regarding these proposals will be requested.
