Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has extended from Dec. 12 to Feb. 10, 2012, the period for public comment on whether a new performance safety standard is needed to address an unreasonable risk of injury associated with table saws. The CPSC is seeking input on the risk of injury associated with table saw blade contact, the regulatory alternatives or other possible means to address this risk, and the economic impacts of the various alternatives. The CPSC is also inviting interested persons to submit an existing standard, or a statement of intent to modify or develop a voluntary standard, to address the risks of injury associated with table saws.
