Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Department of Commerce is organizing a medical trade mission to India March 2–8, 2012. This mission is intended to include representatives from a variety of U.S. medical/healthcare industry manufacturers (equipment/devices, laboratory equipment, emergency equipment, diagnostic, physiotherapy and orthopedic, healthcare information technology, and other allied sectors), service providers, and associations and trade organizations.

A minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 companies will be selected to participate in the mission. Interested parties must submit by Dec. 22 a completed and signed mission application and supplemental application materials, including adequate information on their products and/or services (or, in the case of a trade association or trade organization, the products and/or services of the companies to be represented on the mission), primary market objectives and goals for participation. Each applicant must also certify that the products and services it seeks to export (or, for trade associations or trade organizations, to be exported by each company to be represented) through the mission are either produced in the United States or, if not, marketed under the name of a U.S. firm and have at least 51% U.S. content. Selection will be based on the suitability of a company’s products or services to the mission’s goals, the company’s potential for business in India, including the likelihood of exports resulting from the mission, and the consistency of the applicant’s goals and objectives with the stated scope of the mission.
